Your information stays yours
Our promise, in plain words
- We collect only what HindSited needs to work for you.
- We never sell, rent or share your information, and we never use it to market The Lazy Creator Company or anyone else.
- No ads, no tracking cookies, no analytics that follow you around.
- You can delete your account and everything in it, yourself, at any time.
Who we are
HindSited is made and run by The Lazy Creator Company, a one-person web studio in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Questions about your privacy go to thelazycreatorco@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
Your account
Your name, business name, business website (optional), email address and password. Your password is stored only as a one-way scrambled code (a salted hash), so nobody, including us, can read it. We use these details to run your account, sign you in, and email you about your account and billing.
Website checks
The website address you enter, and what the check finds on that site's public pages: text, links, screenshots and Google speed results. This is saved as a report so you can open it again. Anyone you give a report's link to can view that report.
Free scans without an account
We don't ask who you are. Because the free scan is one per person, we keep a record that the website has used its free scan, plus one-way fingerprints of your device and your internet connection. The connection record lasts 30 days. A fingerprint can't be turned back into your IP address or anything about you.
Review Booster
Your business name, review links, colours, logo and the email address for private feedback. Private notes your customers send through your review page are emailed straight to you and are not kept by HindSited.
Quote Calculator
Your calculator settings and the quote requests your visitors send you (their name, contact details and answers). Those requests belong to you. We keep them only so you can see and download them, and we never contact those people. The only exception is the follow-up email your calculator sends on your behalf, if you switch that on.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. We keep your Stripe customer number and which plan you bought.
If you hire us to build a new website
Once you've agreed to a quote, we keep a build record so we can bill and host your site: your name, email, business, current website, the agreed price, whether each payment has been made, and the status of your hosting. Card details stay with Stripe. We use this only to build, bill and host your website, and delete it when you ask after your hosting has ended.
Reviews of HindSited
If you write a review, we keep your rating, your words, a short version of your name and (only if you tick the box) your business name. Reviews are published only after we check them.
When you ask us for help
If you fill in Start my new website or send a message from a report, or email us, your name, email, phone and message go to The Lazy Creator Company so we can answer you. Those forms are emailed, not stored in HindSited. (While you fill in Start my new website, your answers are kept only in your own browser so you can come back to them.) This is the only way the studio receives your contact details, and only because you asked.
Cookies
Two essential cookies, and nothing else:
hs_sessionkeeps you signed in for up to 30 days.hs_devis a random code set when you run a scan, so a device gets one free scan. It holds nothing about you.
No tracking, analytics or advertising cookies.
Services we use to run HindSited
These companies process information only to provide their part of the service:
- Netlify: hosting and data storage.
- Stripe: payments, receipts and subscription management.
- Brevo: sending account emails (it receives the email address and the message).
- Google PageSpeed Insights: runs the speed test (it receives the website address being checked).
- Google Fonts: your browser loads HindSited's fonts from Google, which can see your IP address.
These services may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States.
Who can see your information
You, and anyone you share a report link with. The Lazy Creator Company can access stored data only to keep HindSited running and secure, to fix problems, or when you ask for support. Never to market to you.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Free-scan reports made without an account are kept so their link keeps working; email us with the link if you'd like one removed. Free-scan records (website, device and connection fingerprints) contain no personal details and are kept to prevent abuse. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your details any time in your dashboard.
- Delete your account from your dashboard. This immediately deletes your account, reports, review kits, calculators and their quote requests, and cancels any monthly plan.
- Get a copy of your information, or ask anything else, by emailing thelazycreatorco@gmail.com.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, sign-in sessions are signed so they can't be forged, and repeated wrong passwords lock the account for 15 minutes. Changing your password signs you out everywhere else.
Children
HindSited is a tool for businesses and isn't meant for children.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. For important changes we'll email account holders before they take effect.
