1 · Find it
Your free scan and report
What does the scan check?
HindSited opens your website the way a customer does, on a real phone and a computer, and reads up to 25 of your pages. It looks for:
- Phone problems: text that's too small, buttons too close together, pages that slide sideways.
- Ways to reach you: phone, email, a contact form, and an easy way to get a price.
- Trust: reviews on your homepage, the security padlock, a real address.
- Google basics: page titles, descriptions, a sitemap.
- Speed: Google's own speed test.
- Mistakes: broken links, template text, fake phone numbers, $0 prices, old dates.
It only reads public pages. It never logs in, fills in forms or changes anything.
Why are some issues blurred?
A free report shows about 60% of the issues found: the smaller ones. The most serious 40% are blurred, with a count of how many there are and which areas they're in.
Subscribe (Solo or Agency) and the same report unlocks straight away: every issue, where it is on your page, what it's likely costing you, and how to fix it.
How many free scans do I get?
One free scan per person. That means one per account, one per device, and one per internet connection every 30 days. Each website also gets only one free scan, ever, whoever runs it.
Your free report stays saved, so you can open it again any time from its link.
Paid plans include 30 checks a month (Solo) or 300 (Agency), so you can re-check after every change.
2 · Fix it
Fixing your current website
Two ways: fix the issues yourself with the steps in your report, or get a brand-new website built.
Will you fix my existing website for me?
No. We build new websites only. Fixing someone else's site means logging into their Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or Shopify account and working around how it was built, which is slow and risky for everyone.
You have two options:
- Fix it yourself. Every issue in your report comes with plain steps (below). You can also send the report link to whoever manages your site.
- Get a new website with every issue gone, from $500 CAD. See Your new website.
How do I fix the issues myself?
- Open your report. Each issue shows what's wrong, what it's likely costing you, how to fix it, and a screenshot of where it is on your page.
- Start at the top. Issues are ranked by how much they're likely costing you.
- Make the change in your website builder (Wix, Squarespace, WordPress and so on).
- Run a new check from your dashboard and watch your score go up.
Two of the most common gaps have a tool that fixes them for you: Review Booster (no reviews) and Quote Calculator (no easy way to get a price).
I don't know who built my site or how to log in
Check your email and your bank or card statements for a monthly or yearly charge from a website company (Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, GoDaddy, WordPress.com, a web host). Whoever charges you is where your site lives, and their log-in page has a Forgot password link.
The About your website section of your report shows what your site is built on and where your web address is registered.
If you can't get in at all, your site isn't really in your control. A new website you own fixes that for good: see Your new website.
Fix tool
Review Booster
Gets you more Google reviews. Included with every plan (one free kit on a free account).
What is it and how does it work?
- Add your business name and your Google review link.
- You get your own review page (a web link), printable QR cards, and ready-to-send messages for text and email.
- Give the card, link or message to customers after a job. They tap it, and land on your Google review box.
- Unhappy customers can send you a private note instead. It's emailed straight to you, so you can fix things before a bad review.
Where does it live?
Your review page lives on HindSited at its own link. Nothing goes on your website unless you want it to. You can put the link on your website, in your email signature, on invoices, or print the QR card for your counter or truck.
Fix tool
Quote Calculator
An instant price on your website. Visitors pick what they need, see a price straight away, and send you their details.
What is it, and why does it work?
Most people won't call a business just to ask a price. They leave and try the next site, the one that shows a number. The Quote Calculator gives them that number straight away, so they stay and send you their details.
- You list your services and prices (a business type fills in examples to start).
- Optional: a quantity (rooms, hours, square feet) and add-ons.
- You choose what's shown: an exact price, a range (for example $180 to $220), or price on request (no price shown, details still collected).
What does my customer see and do?
- They pick a service, set the quantity and tick any extras.
- They see the price straight away.
- They leave their name and an email or phone number to get the quote.
- They see a thank-you message saying you'll be in touch.
What do I get?
- An email the moment someone asks, with their contact details, exactly what they picked, and the price they saw.
- Every request saved in your dashboard, where you can download them.
- Reply fast: people who hear back within the hour are far more likely to book.
Where does it live? Does it go on my website?
Your calculator lives on HindSited at its own link (for example hindsighted.netlify.app/q/your-business). There are three ways to put it in front of customers. Pick whichever is easiest:
- A button on your website (works everywhere, no code). Add a button to your site that says something like "Get an instant price" and link it to your calculator's link. Every website builder can add a button with a link.
- Built into a page (embed). Paste one line of code into your site and the calculator appears right on the page. Step-by-step for your platform is below.
- Share the link. Put it on your Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram bio, text replies and email signature. No website needed.
Your link and your embed code are on your Quote Calculator page, each with a Copy button.
Step by step: put the calculator on my website
Easiest, works on every platform: add a Button to your page, set its text to "Get an instant price", and paste your calculator's link as the button's link. Publish.
To show it right on the page, copy your embed code from your Quote Calculator page, then follow your platform:
Wix
- Open your site in the Wix Editor.
- Click Add Elements (the + on the left), then Embed Code, then Popular Embeds, then Embed HTML.
- Click the new box on your page, then Enter Code.
- Paste your code and click Apply.
- Drag the box where you want it, make it wide enough, then Publish.
Squarespace
- Open the page and click Edit.
- Click Add Block where you want it and choose Code.
- Click the block's pencil icon and paste your code.
- Click Save.
Some Squarespace plans don't run code in code blocks. If the calculator doesn't appear on your live site, use the button method instead.
WordPress
- Edit the page.
- Click the + (block inserter) and search for Custom HTML.
- Paste your code into the block.
- Click Update (or Publish).
On WordPress.com, adding code needs a plan that allows it. If it doesn't show, use the button method.
Shopify
- In Shopify admin go to Online Store, then Themes, then Customize.
- Open the page you want, click Add section and choose Custom Liquid.
- Paste your code into the Custom Liquid box.
- Click Save.
Most current Shopify themes include Custom Liquid. If yours doesn't, use the button method.
GoDaddy
- Open your Websites + Marketing site and click Edit Website.
- Click Add Section, search for HTML, and add it.
- Paste your code into the Custom Code box.
- Click Publish.
Webflow
- In the Designer, open the Add panel and drag a Code Embed onto the page.
- Paste your code and click Save & Close.
- Publish the site. (It shows as a placeholder in the Designer and appears on the live site.)
Webflow needs a paid site or workspace plan for code embeds. If you don't have one, use the button method.
Not sure what your site is built on? Your HindSited report shows it under About your website.
New website
Your new website
A brand-new, bug-free website you fully own, with every issue in your report gone. From $500 CAD. Request one now (no scan needed).
How does it work, step by step?
- Tell us about your business (about 5 minutes). Open your report and press Start my new website, or skip the scan and use Request a new website. Answer a few questions and press Send. No cost, no commitment.
- Get your quote by email. What's included, the price and the timing. Nothing happens until you say yes.
- Pay the 50% deposit. You get a secure Stripe payment link by email. Building starts as soon as it's paid.
- We build it (usually 1 to 2 weeks). Your current site stays up the whole time. You get a preview link to look at it.
- Pay the final 50% plus your first month of hosting ($25 CAD). One secure link. Your card is saved for the monthly hosting.
- Go live. You change two settings in your domain account, and your web address now opens your new site.
- From then on, $25 CAD a month covers hosting, the padlock, small changes and fixes. See Hosting and updates.
What does it cost, all in?
| What | Cost | When |
|---|---|---|
| Your new website | From $500 CAD (your quote) | 50% to start, 50% at launch |
| Hosting and updates | $25 CAD a month | Starts at launch, charged monthly |
| Extra pages later | $150 CAD each | Quoted before they're added |
| Your web address (domain) | About $15 to $25 a year | Paid by you to your domain company, in your name |
Example: a $500 site is $250 to start, then $275 at launch ($250 + the first $25 month), then $25 a month.
What do I own?
- Your web address: it's registered in your name, in your own account. Nobody can take it.
- Your words, photos and logo.
- Your website's files: if you ever leave hosting, you get a zip of them to use anywhere.
We never ask for the password to your website, your domain or any other account.
Will my current site go down while you build?
No. Your current site stays exactly as it is until you change the two settings at launch. Then your web address switches over to the new site.
What do I have to do?
- Answer the questions in Start my new website (about 5 minutes).
- Approve your quote and pay the two payments.
- At launch, change two settings in your domain account (about 5 minutes, step by step below), or tell us you need a web address.
That's it. Your words, photos and logo can come from your current site.
Web address
Your web address (domain)
Your web address (like yourbusiness.com) is rented yearly from a domain company, called a registrar. Your new site keeps your address. You just point it at the new site.
How do I find where my web address is registered?
- Check your HindSited report. Under About your website it shows who your web address is registered with and when it renews.
- Search your email for "domain renewal", "domain registration" or your web address.
- Check your bank or card statements for a yearly charge from GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, Google, Hover, IONOS or similar.
- Look it up at lookup.icann.org: type your web address and it shows the registrar.
I can log in to my domain account
Then you're ready. At launch, follow The two settings. It takes about 5 minutes.
I can't log in, or I forgot my password
- Go to your registrar's log-in page and click Forgot password.
- Try every email your business has used, including old ones and a past employee's.
- Still stuck? Contact the registrar's support. They can confirm you're the owner with ID and business documents.
You can still send your new-website request while you sort this out. Building takes 1 to 2 weeks, which is usually plenty of time.
Someone else (a past designer) registered it
Ask them to transfer the domain into an account in your name. It's free or cheap, and they don't lose anything. If you can't reach them, contact the registrar: they have a process for business owners to prove the address is theirs (business registration, invoices, ID).
I don't have a web address, or I can't get mine back
No problem:
- Your new site can go live straight away on a free temporary address (like
yourbusiness.netlify.app), so you can start sharing it. - Buy a web address in your own name from any registrar (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare and others). It costs about $15 to $25 a year. We'll help you pick a good one.
- Then do the two settings and your new address opens your site.
The two settings (exact values)
When your site is ready, Michael emails you the exact values. They look like this:
- Log in to your domain company and open your web address's DNS settings. It's often called DNS, Manage DNS, DNS records or Advanced DNS.
- Setting 1: your main address. Make sure there's one record with
Type:A· Host/Name:@(or leave it blank) · Value/Points to:75.2.60.5
If your provider offers an ALIAS or ANAME type, you can use that instead, with the valueapex-loadbalancer.netlify.com. - Setting 2: the "www" version. Make sure there's one record with
Type:CNAME· Host/Name:www· Value/Points to: your site's address from Michael's email (it ends in.netlify.app) - Remove the old ones. Delete any other
A,AAAAorCNAMErecords on@orwwwthat point to your old site. Leave everything else alone. - Save. It can take a few hours, and up to a day, to switch over. The padlock (https) turns on by itself once it does.
Don't touch your email settings. Leave any MX or TXT records exactly as they are, so your business email keeps working.
Stuck? Reply to Michael's email with a screenshot of your DNS page and he'll tell you exactly what to change.
After launch
Hosting and updates
$25 CAD a month, for websites we build. It keeps your site online, secure and up to date.
What's included?
- Hosting: your site stays online and fast.
- The padlock (SSL): the secure https connection.
- Small changes: hours, prices, photos, wording. Just reply to any of Michael's emails.
- Fixes: if something on your site breaks, it's fixed.
Not included: new pages, at $150 CAD each, quoted before they're added.
How am I charged?
$25 CAD a month, charged automatically to the card you saved at launch, on the same day each month. Stripe emails you a receipt.
What if a payment fails?
- Stripe automatically tries again and emails you.
- Michael sends you a link to update your card. It opens a secure Stripe page.
- If it's still unpaid 14 days after it was due, your site is paused (visitors see a "temporarily offline" page).
- As soon as it's paid, your site is switched back on.
How do I stop hosting?
- Email thelazycreatorco@gmail.com and say you'd like to end hosting.
- Hosting ends 30 days later. You get an email with the exact date and aren't charged after it.
- You get a zip file of your website to host anywhere. Your web address is already in your name.
A month that's already been charged isn't refunded. Full details: Terms, section 8.
